This week's deep dive Your AI Subscription
|
|
01 · Daily Use One task AI does every single day — not occasional experiments. Repetition is what makes AI useful. It learns your patterns. You learn its edge cases. |
|
02 · Clear Output Saves 30+ minutes you can actually measure — not "feels helpful." If you can't name the time saved, the habit won't stick. Make it quantifiable from day one. |
|
03 · Your Voice Built on your context, your tone, your specific work — not generic prompts. The output should sound like you. If it doesn't, the prompt needs more of your specifics. |
|
04 · Builds Over Time Gets better the more you use it — not reset every session. Use Projects in Claude. Custom instructions in ChatGPT. Make the AI remember you. |
The gym analogy holds: a membership doesn't make you fit. A routine does. You wouldn't cancel your gym after going twice and wonder why you're not in shape. Same logic.
"The people getting value from AI aren't using more of it. They're using it for fewer, better things — and they do those things every single day."
How to Find Your One Thing
Don't start with the AI. Start with your week. Look at the last five days and find the task that took the most time, felt the most repetitive, and produced the most predictable output. That's your entry point.
Writing tasks: Weekly summaries, email drafts, report structures.
Research tasks: Competitive analysis, briefing notes, topic synthesis.
Planning tasks: Agendas, project breakdowns, decision frameworks.
Pick one. Set it up properly once. Use it for 30 days. Don't add a second use case until the first one is completely automatic.
Tool of the Week
Notion AI
Context-aware AI that knows your actual work
Most AI tools don't know you. Notion AI does — it lives inside your workspace and connects to everything you've written: notes, docs, databases, meeting summaries, project briefs.
Best use case this week: Open Notion AI and ask it: "Summarise what I've actually been working on this month versus what I said I'd work on." The gap between those two answers is your real productivity audit.
Best for: Knowledge workers, writers, anyone who stores their thinking in Notion. The context-awareness is the product.
Prompt of the Week
Use this to find your one AI use case — the one that makes the subscription worth it:
"I want to find my highest-leverage AI use case. Here's my role: [describe your role]. Here's what takes the most time in my week: [list 3 tasks]. For each task, tell me: (1) how AI could reduce the time by 50%+, (2) what I'd need to set up once to make it repeatable, and (3) what the daily habit looks like in practice. Give me the single highest-leverage starting point — just one."
Works with Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini. Fill in your specifics — the more detail you give, the more targeted the output. Run it once, implement one thing.
The Bottom Line
Don't cancel yet. You're not too dumb for AI — you're just too busy building projects and not busy enough building habits. One use case, repeated daily, beats 16 experiments every time. The subscription is worth it. But only if you stop experimenting and start systemizing.
